EXTREMELY RARE: THE PRADA SAINT LAURENT REFERENCE SAFARI JACKET
Miuccia Prada is an avid lover of vintage clothing, and she wore a lot of vintage YSL during her years at university, which would have been the earliest collections of YSL ready to wear from the 1960's - 1970's. Her 1993 collections for Prada were inspired by the 1970's clothes of Yves Saint Laurent.
This safari jacket is an homage to Saint Laurent's now infamous 1968 Saharienne (Safari) ready to wear collection. It's made from an airy, light silk in a faded, blue color with grey undertones that's similar to the hue of a well-loved blue chore jacket.
Shoulder to shoulder ~19 inches. Armpit to armpit ~20.5 inches. Sleeves ~21.5 inches. Armpit to bottom hem ~18.25 inches. Natural waist (where the belt loops hit) ~19 inches across. Length ~ inches (back, center).
Excellent condition. Light fading throughout (although this is likely intentional to the finish of the fabric). Wear to the fabric on the corners of the belt buckle.
