Condition: A vintage item is very good condition.
Date: 1960s
Chanel Haute Couture vintage skirt suit from 1960. The suit is in very good condition for the age of the garment. A classic Chanel tweed in a dark beige tone. The placket, pockets and cuffs are detailed in woven midnight blue and claret grosgrain. Gold tone Chanel buttons. Please note that one of the buttons to the cuff has been replaced with a similar button. This is shown in a photograph. Signature chain weighted hem to the jacket. The jacket is lined in cream and the lining is in very good condition.
A knee-length pencil with the contrasting woven midnight blue and claret grosgrain detailing to the waistband.
This same model has been worn by Elizabeth Taylor and Her Majesty Queen Paola, and has been featured in articles about Chanel's work. This is an Haute Couture piece from 1960, and as such there is no sizing or composition label.
